Kolai Daler Bora / Biuli Daler Bora / Urad Dal Vada Recipe

Preparing snacks at any time is a challenging job. If you are a busy person then finding a good snack is always challenging. In this post, we will tell you about the super delicious, mouthwatering Bengali Snacks called কলাই ডালের বড়া or Lentil Fritters.
Let me clear first, if you are a fitness freak or in a super diet plan then you should avoid this deep fried Bora. It is served with hot tea/coffee. I always eat 8-10 Bora in a rainy season with a cup of hot tea. Most importantly the recipe is made for vegetarians.
Coming to the Bodas/Boras/Vadas, it always need some time for the preparation.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup lentils (Urad Dal/Kolai Dal/ Biuli Dal) soaked for a couple of hours
- 1 small 1/2inch of ginger
- 3 green chilles(can be changed)
- 1 teaspoon turmeric
- 1 teaspoon salt or to taste
- Pinch of Black cumin(Kala Jeera/Kalo Jire)O
- Oil for frying
Instructions
- Place the soaked lentils, ginger, green chilies, turmeric and salt with 2 tablespoons water in a blender. Blend to a fine paste
- Mix Black Cumin
- Place 1/2 cup oil in a small wok /Kadai and heated up until smoking.
- Drop the batter in small spoonfuls and fry on medium low heat until it becomes golden. It will take about 3 to 4 minutes.
Serve hot with some chutneys/ Ketchups or simply with tea/coffee.
